The Dragonflight Profession System

With Dragonflight, for the first time in many years, the profession system has changed to something more complex. Because the basic knowledge about the professions in 10.0 would blow up this guide, you can find it on its own page. A side note: If your character is a Kul’Tiran, you will benefit from the Jack of All Trades racial bonus, which increases all crafting skills. If you are a Goblin, you will benefit from the racial bonus Better Living Through Chemistry – this increases your alchemy skill.

Leveling Guide

This skill guide is designed to be as efficient as possible. For each item you make for the first time, you will receive one knowledge point and Artisan’s Mettle. Knowledge points are enormously important for your later success, which is why I have structured the guide in such a way that you receive almost all available points. At the end of the skill guide, I list the recipes that are still open.

With the standard recipes you get from your teacher, you can learn up to a maximum of skill 60. From skill 60 to 100, you can learn recipes through reputation and recipes that you unlock through your specialization.

All profession skill guides cannot always fit 1:1 thanks to the newly introduced value Inspiriation, which plays a major role. Among other things, tools and accessories that give +inspiration have the chance to get an additional production point during production. If, for example, you get 3 skill points instead of +2 for a step, it may be that the following recipe is no longer orange and therefore only grants one skill point instead of 3. So please keep this in mind!

After this skill guide you will have 11 Knowledge Points. Transmute: Awakened Air is not included in the guide. Instead, you will receive one knowledge point of alchemy and Artisan’s Mettle.

Through the potions and vial experiments you will keep learning new potions and vials. For the first creation you get 5 Artisan’s Mettle and one Alchemy Knowledge Point.

From here on, skilling will be a little slower, because you need Knowledge Points to specialise.
Nevertheless, you should already know what to expect:

You now have the choice of spending your Knowledge Points on making the leveling up of the profession easier or on increasing the quality of your crafting. It is recommended to choose either Potion Mastery or Phial Mastery as Specialization and to use the first 40 Knowledge Points as follows:

Profession Equipment for Alchemists

Also new in Dragonflight is the Profession Equipment. For each crafting and gathering profession, there is one Tool slot and two Accessory slots. With these items you can significantly improve your profession, because you get additional crafting speed, inspiration, skill and the like.

There are two versions of each tool and accessory. You can create one version at level 58 and sell it in the auction house. The much better version can only be sold to other players via the crafting order system. You must be level 70 to use it.

As an alchemist you cannot make a tool or accessory yourself. The tool is provided by Inscription and the accessory can be obtained from Tailoring and Leatherworking.

You get your tool from Inscription.

Specializations

Alchemy has 3 Specializations, all of which can be unlocked with a character. With a skill of 25 you can choose the first Specialization. As soon as you have a skill of 50 you can choose a second Specialization and 100 for the third. For these Specializations you need Knowledge Points, which you have obtained, for example, by skilling from 1-60.

If you want to have all Specializations, you need 510 (!) Knowledge Points. You can get a quick 11 points from the profession trainer. For each newly discovered phial or potion you get one Knowledge Point when you first craft it. You can get more from quests, missions, treasures, etc. At the moment, you will receive about 10 knowledge points per week.

If you only have one alchemist, then think carefully about which Specialization you choose, as Knowledge Points are scarce at the beginning. And it seems that you can’t reset your Specialization.

If you have the option, I would go for a 2-character setup in alchemy. One character goes for potion mastery and the other for phial mastery.

Basically, by setting Knowledge Points in various Knowledge Wheels, you increase your skill in that category by 1 per point. The higher your skill, the better the quality of the item you make. In addition, every 5 Knowledge Points you unlock further Specializations, Recipes, Reagents or Attributes such as Resourcefulness, Inspiration etc.

Potion Mastery

Wie der Name schon sagt, konzentriert ihr euch bei der Tränkemeisterschaft auf die Verbesserung eurer Tränke. Mit erhöhtem Wissen steigert ihr die Chance auf Multicraft (Proccs), Inspiration, verbesserte Qualität, Dauer der Tränke und Crafting Speed. Die Qualitätsstufen gehen von Tier 1 bis Tier 3.

Für jeden gesetzten Wissenspunkt in dieser Specialization erhöht sich eure Fertigkeit um +1. Bei Trankexperimente wird die Chance erhöht sowie bei Serienherstellung der Wert Multicraft um +1 pro Wissenspunkt.

Die Qualität eurer Tränke bestimmt, wie effizient eure Tränke sind. Hier ein Beispiel:

Wie ihr auf dem Bild sehen könnt, hat stellt der Tier 1 Heiltrank 68.650 Gesundheit und der Tier 2 Heiltrank 80.000 Gesundheit her.

Tränkemeisterschaft
Erhöht eure Inspiration sowie Resourcefulness.
Mit 30 Knowledge Points schaltet ihr den Fertigungsreagenzien Slot: Alchemistischer Katalysator frei. Über diesen können die Werte Inspiration, Multicraft und Crafting Speed erhöht werden.

• Tränke auf Frostbasis
  Verbesserte eure Fertigkeit, Inspiration, Resourcefulness.
  Mit 15 Knowledge Points wird die Heilung von Tränken auf der Dracheninsel erhöht.
  Mit 30 Knowledge Points lernt ihr das Handwerksmaterial Glorreiche Einsicht welche eure Fertigkeit für Tränke auf Frost Basis nochmal erhöht.
• Tränke auf Luftbasis
  Verbesserte eure Fertigkeit, Inspiration, Resourcefulness.
  Mit 15 Knowledge Points wird die Bewegungsgeschwindigkeit von Tränken auf der Dracheninsel erhöht.

• Tränkekunde
  Erhöht eure Inspiration und Resourcefulness sowie ermöglicht die Verwendung der Glorreichen Einsicht bei Tränkekessel der Macht.
• Trankexperimente
  Erhöht eure Chance neue Recipee durch Experimente zu bekommen.
  Mit 30 Knowledge Points schaltet ihr Fortgeschrittene Trankexperimente frei. Dadurch erhöht ihr eure Chance für neue Tränke.
• Serienherstellung
  Der Fokus der Serienherstellung liegt auf der Multicraft. Der Gewinn des Alchemisten liegt in den Proccs (Multicraft). Diese Skillung ist Pflicht für jeden Alchemisten.
  Mit 15 Knowledge Points erlernt ihr den Tränkekessel der Macht.

Phial Mastery

Wie der Name schon sagt, konzentriert ihr euch bei der Phiolenmeisterschaft auf die Verbesserung eurer Phiolen. Mit erhöhtem Wissen steigert ihr die Chance auf Multicraft (Proccs), Inspiration, verbesserte Qualität, Dauer der Tränke und Crafting Speed. Die Qualitätsstufen gehen von Tier 1 bis Tier 3.

Für jeden gesetzten Wissenspunkt in dieser Specialization erhöht sich eure Fertigkeit um +1. Bei Phiolenexperimente wird die Chance erhöht sowie bei Serienherstellung der Wert Multicraft um +1 pro Wissenspunkt.

Alchemical Theory

Über die Alchemistische Theorie verbessert ihr eure Chancen auf Transmutationen, die Herstellung und Verbesserung von Räucherwerk, Reduktion von Ressourcen in der Herstellung sowie erhöhte Chancen auf zusätzliche Fertigkeitspunkte.

Alchemistische Theorie

• Transmutation
  Erhöht euren Resourcefulness bei Transmutationen. Mit 10 Knowledge Points erlernt ihr Transmutation: Ordnung zu Elementen frei. Diese hat einen 24 Stunden Cooldown und belohnt euch mit Tobenden Elementen.
  Entscheidend ist, dass ihr bei 20 Knowledge Points euer Verständnis für Transmutation erhöht und somit häufiger und mit erhöhtem Maß durchführen könnt. Es besteht die Chance, dass die Zeit des Cooldowns reduziert wird.
• Chemische Synthese
  Hier konzentriert ihr euch nur auf die Verbesserung von Räucherwerk. Dabei erhöht ihr die Multicraft, Inspiration, Fertigkeit aber auch Crafting Speed.
• Verfallologie
  Hier reduziert ihr den erlittenen Schaden von Nebenwirkungen durch das Trinken toxischer Tränke. Mit 20 Knowledge Points lernt ihr die Transmutation: Verfall zu Element.

  Über diese Skillung könnt ihr eure Kosten bei der Herstellung von Alchemiebedarf reduzieren
• Inspirierende Umgebung

Potions

There are two types of vials. Air Potions, which are made from Awakened Air, and Frost Potions, which are made from Awakened Frost.
The higher the quality of your vials, the better their stats. Potions only last a few seconds and have a cooldown of at least 5 minutes. The higher the quality of your potions, the better their stats.

Use the Agitating Potion Augmentation Crafting Reagent to increase Multicraft (proc chances) and Inspiration. The Brood Salt crafting reagent also increases Inspirationand Crafting Speed. The higher your Inspiration, the more likely you are to get better quality crafting.

Transmutations

Transmutations allow you to transmute awakened elements into other Awakened Elements in various ways. For example, from Transmutate: Order to Elements you get the elements Raging Frost, Fire, Earth and Air (see picture).

After a transmutation you have 23 hours of cooldown. As you can see in the picture, I still have 3 of the 10 skills available. This means that if you don’t have time for 2-3 days, the cooldown is added. You can therefore directly produce 3 transmutations after 3 days.

The Alchemical Theory -> Transmutation specialization improves your understanding of transmutations, allowing you to perform them more frequently and to a greater degree.

As an alchemist, you traditionally get your own trinket as an Alchemist’s Stone. This has an item level of 382 and can be increased to 418 with Primal Infusion, Concentrated Primal Infusion Infusion.

Elementar Potions and Phials

Probably the most important potions and phials are the Elemental Potion of Power, Elemental Potion of Ultimate Power and Phial of Elemental Chaos.

With the elemental potions you raise your primary stat for 30 seconds. Depending on the quality of the potion, the value increases.

Crucially, you can sell the Elemental Potion of Power in the Auction House. The Elemental Potion of Ultimate Power was bound to you after crafting, but Patch 10.1 changed that and now you can sell them aswell.

Cauldrons

With Dragonflight, there are cauldrons again with which you can supply raid members in the best possible way.

Cauldron of the Pooka

When you set up a Kessel der Pooka, it lasts for 3 minutes. When you use it, the game gives you the potion Suspiciously Fuzzy Drink. This restores your mana. With luck, you will transform into an animal. This transformation lasts 3 minutes.

Recrafting

One of the new features for Dragonflight is Recrafting. With the help of “Recraft Equipment” you can improve crafted items again with optional reagents. This increases the quality or the attributes of the item, for example.

Via the order system, it is possible to improve the armour, weapons and tools of other players in this way. Currently, this is only possible for personal and guild orders.
