About Inscription
- Epigraphy belongs to the group of crafting professions.
- As an epigrapher, you are not bound to any place as long as you have your virtuoso's writing set, ink and parchment (sold by NPCs) in your pocket. With your ability Grind you destroy herbs and get pigments from them, which you can process into inks.
- Inscription scholars grind flowers and grasses collected by herbalists. If you grind 5 herbs, you will get pigments from them, which you can process into inks.
- Inks from the current expansion can always be exchanged for inks from older expansions at the ink merchant.
- To avoid having to buy these flowers in the auction house, it is a good idea to learn herbalism as a second profession.
- Inscriptionists produce glyphs, Darkmoon Faire card sets, parchment scrolls, sidehand items, Vantus runes, and, since Battle for Azeroth, contracts that can help you boost your reputation with the factions.
- Inscriptionists can also craft Foliant des stillen Gemüts, which allows you to change your talents outside of rest zones.
- In Battle for Azeroth, Inscriptionists can also craft Scroll of Unlocking, which allows them to open locks and lockboxes.
- Nightborne have a +15 bonus to Inscription through their Racial Uralte Geschichten. This means that recipes stay orange 15 points longer, which can save materials and thus gold in many cases.

Mill the following Legion Herbs to get Cerulean Pigment and Roseate Pigment:
Yseralline Seed, Felwort, Starlight Rose, Fjarnskaggl, Foxflower, Dreamleaf, Aethril, Astral Glory
A small hint: In some capitals there are Ink Trader who exchange the ink of the current expansion for older inks. So if e.g. Jadefire Ink is very expensive, you can see if you can get away with current materials cheaper by exchanging your inks! These Traders can be found here:

Tome of the Tranquil Mind kannst du dir von einer Schriftrolle in der Nähe des Lehrers in Dalaran auf einem Tresen im hinteren Teil des Gebäudes abholen. Eventuell werden zusätzliche Materialien benötigt.

From here on out, you'll need a rank 3 Vantus Rune recipe from Nighthold. They are all very useless at this point, making them a huge waste of gold, but there are no good alternatives to these recipes. Rank 2 or 3 recipes stay orange longer (which means guaranteed skill points). You can't get to skill 100 without a rank 3 recipe.
So make:
60 x one of the Vantus Runes below
(180 x Cerulean Pigment, 900 x Roseate Pigment)
You can try to make glyphs, of course, but they turn green and you'd probably have to make a whole bunch of glyphs. But you can probably sell some of them at least.
Rank 1 and Rank 2 Vantus Runes
Basically, you have to kill a boss twice in the Nighthold Raid. Kill it in LFR, learn the rank 1 recipe, then kill the same boss on Normal or Heroic (or wait until the next ID and LFR kill).
